Spellflight

The United States Air Force Vessel Vigilance completed its refit a few days ago and is awaiting her crew. USAV Vigilance (DSCS - 1) is the first warship in modern history. DSCS stands for Deep Space Combat Spacecraft. She's armed with an experimental compact SDI laser, a space-rated Otto Melara 76mm dual-purpose cannon, and a half-dozen space-rated, dual-purpose Phalanx 20mm CIWS, not including a pair of prototype YFS-1B Bronco fighters. Even the missile trucks used to rearm the fighters can be detached and used as guided missile boats. With Nautilus (DSEV - 2) gone missing, will the Air Force retain control over the ship, or will NAXA play the joint project card, and enlist the former DSEV - 1 in a rescue mission? --- I've applied my improved lighting skills to this picture, and the pose reminds me of a picture of an Olympic diver caught mid-back flip.
