Spellflight

I needed a docking port for my manned spacecraft in Contact Lost, so I created one based on the real-world Low Impact Docking System's soft capture ring, and combined it with a Russian APAS-style hard capture ring. I didn't want to reinvent the wheel, so I decided that my docking port would be called the International Low Impact Docking System (ILIDS, pronouced "eyelids." All manned spacecraft in Contact Lost would have at least one ILIDS port. Little did I know at the time, NASA had the same idea! They called theirs iLIDS before renaming it the NASA Docking System.
